The story of the 00 Wines Burgundy project begins with a dream . . .
00 Wines founder and White Burgundy collector Chris Hermann has always considered Corton-Charlemagne as his “holy grail” wine.
When he made a late-night call to a winemaker in Burgundy proposing that they make a Corton-Charlemagne together in 2017, he began a journey into the magic and mystery of Burgundian Chardonnay production.
In 2017, 00 Wines made its first wine in Burgundy with Corton-Charlemagne, often called the King of Whites, marking a natural extension of the winery’s deep commitment to Chardonnay. Since that inaugural vintage, the Burgundy project has expanded thoughtfully to include some of the region’s most revered terroirs, including Meursault Charmes, Bâtard-Montrachet, and Chambertin. Each addition reflects a deliberate choice to work only with sites of historic significance and proven ability to deliver depth, precision, and longevity. Rather than rapid growth, the project has evolved through careful selection, reinforcing 00 Wines’ focus on excellence, restraint, and the pursuit of The New Taste within Burgundy’s most iconic vineyards.
Alongside these Grand Cru and iconic village expressions, 00 Wines has also begun to push boundaries within Premier Cru vineyards across both the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune. This exploration includes carefully selected Premier Cru sites in Pernand-Vergelesses, Pommard, Beaune, and Chassagne-Montrachet, where nuance, structure, and site character offer a compelling counterpoint to Burgundy’s most exalted vineyards. By applying the same rigor and attention to texture, balance, and taste, these wines highlight the often underappreciated depth and potential of Premier Cru terroirs, expanding the conversation around what truly defines greatness in Burgundy.
