In 2018 Chris and Kathryn Hermann became stewards of a 19th century wine country bungalow in Carlton, Oregon.

The House of 00 not only represents the physical place where they work, garden, and live an analog lifestyle, but also the concept of a traditional wine atelier.

Like a traditional family owned and operated house of fashion with codes, precision handwork, and technical craftsmanship, the House of 00 is the uniting vision between the Hermanns’ winemaking in the Willamette Valley, Burgundy, and Champagne.

Our family’s traditions in every bottle

Our team meetings and creative decisions are made at the walnut table that Chris’s parents, Richard and Freya Hermann, had made for them in Corvallis, Oregon in the 1960’s.

The rugs and kilims shown in our product photos are from Chris Hermann’s personal collection.

When you experience a bottle of 00 Wines, you are tasting our creative work that is inspired by the aromas, flavors, and aesthetics of the Hermann family’s history and vision.

From the design of the bottles to the colors of our brand, 00 Wines is an expression of agricultural and lifestyle art.

“The project’s success was in a way pre-ordained.

A second-generation Oregonian, Chris spent more than three decades doing vineyard deals as a lawyer in the Willamette Valley, learning its terroirs and its vineyards like the back of his hand. As a child, his father, a renowned plant geneticist at Oregon State, took him around to meet all the early Oregon greats. Talking with him is like going to class on the history of Oregon winemaking over the past 50 years.”
