Since 2017, 00 Wines has produced Grand Cru Chardonnay in the home of this noble grape varietal: the Côte-d’Or. What began as a one barrel experiment with Corton-Charlemagne fruit using the Black Chardonnay method in 2017 has grown to seven barrels of Meursault Charmes and one barrel of Corton-Charlemagne in 2022.

Currently, there is a major generational shift happening in Burgundy as the great domaines, vineyards, and cellar work is handed over to energetic winemakers with fresh ideas. At 00 Wines, we are pleased to announce the comeback to the 00 Wines family of winemaker Maxence Lecat. Maxence produced the 2017 and 2018 Willamette Valley wines that put 00 on the map. The 2022 Burgundy wine release marks the return of Maxence to 00 Wines as our Burgundy winemaker.

The 00 Wines Meursault Charmes made its debut at 67 Pall Mall in London in May 2024 as part of a panel tasting and discussion led by Charles Curtis, MW. Our Black Chardonnay winemaking style when paired with the charming Chardonnay of this appellation brings structure and power to balance the typical enchantment of Meursault Charmes.
