“The 2022 00 Wines Chardonnay ‘VGW’ from the Willamette Valley showcases a striking neon light lemon core with a watery rim. On the nose, it reveals layers of lemon citrus, fresh yellow pear, and delicate white floral notes, all intertwined with a hint of white clay, dusty herbs, and crushed volcanic stones. The palate is remarkable, with an incredible backbone of acidity that provides impeccable balance and structure. The finish is long and lingering, with the vibrant acidity and mineral-driven complexity leaving a lasting impression. This Chardonnay is beautifully crafted, with a finish that extends for minutes. Can $75 be a value? Here it can!”

An intensely flinty, zesty, smoky and fragrant white. On the palate it’s salty, immensely concentrated and fresh, with heaps of crushed stone, flint and citrus rind flavors. Medium-bodied and electric, while packing a punch. Textured and creamy, too. A large proportion of the grapes comes from the Eola Amity Hills. Drink or hold.

The 2022 Chardonnay VGW opens with alluring tones of flint and matchstick that give way to golden apples, quince, lemongrass, toast and allspice. The medium-bodied palate is satiny and expansive with concentrated, savory, flint-laced flavors. Its depth of flavor and textural presence is foiled by racy acidity, and it has a long, dynamic finish.

“This is layered and creamy with dried apricot and lemon curd with some candied lemon as well. Medium to full body, with lots of tangy fruit and crisp acidity. Lemon tart and sea shell undertones.”
94 pts. Audrey Frick for Jeb Dunnuck
A ripe youthful yellow hue, the 2021 Chardonnay VGW is fantastic out of the gates, with ripe aromas of white smoke, lemon balm, salty earth, and white peach. From all volcanic soils, the 2021 Chardonnay VGW is ripe through the palate with generous notes of salted pineapple fruit and a rounded feel, although it’s clean as a whistle and has a fresh lift of acidity.
92 pts. Erin Brooks for Wine Advocate
The 2021 Chardonnay VGW comes from grapes harvested September 10–24. On the nose, white peaches are accented by honeycomb, roasted almonds and honeysuckle. The palate pairs concentrated, honeyed fruit with mouthwatering acidity and a silky texture, and it has a gently perfumed, ethereal finish.
