2015 Stardance - Pinot Noir

2015 Stardance - Pinot Noir
Single Vineyard

One sip of the 2015 Single Vineyard Stardance envokes a sense of ethereal pleasure, just like the name of the vineyard does itself. Planted on 14.36 acres in 2003 with the consultation of Results Partners, this is a rare 100% own-rooted pommard clone vineyard situated deep in the hills of Yamhill.

Stardance fruit yields an aromatic wine, with a rich and beautiful violet nose that gracefully opens in the mouth and lasts long through the silky palate and finish.

25 cases produced.

Vineyard Notes
Biodynamically farmed. Elevation and Aspect: 490 ft. East-facing slope. Soil Type: Peavine (sandstone-derived silt and clay). Clones: 100% own-rooted Pommard. Total Planted Acres: 14.36 planted in 2003.
Production Notes
We hand-snip the single whole berries off each tightly packed Pinot Noir cluster and ferment in 500L Tuscan clay amphorae. √Člevage in 20% new French oak for 16 months before bottling.
Winemaker Notes
Fermentation in clay amphorae softens the tannins without sacrificing structure. Whole berry fermentation imparts an elegance and lift in the mouthfeel. Produced by Lea Lafon and Ryan Hannaford under the direction of Pierre Millemann.
