2017 Richard Hermann Cuvée - Chardonnay

2017 Richard Hermann Cuvée - Chardonnay

"Double Zero tags its top wines with the names of the founders' parents. This stunning example hews to the rich, ripe, opulent house style that carries across all of its Chardonnays. Here, the flavors seem suspended in a mesh of toasted marshmallows, a creamy lushness pervades the apple pie and lemon meringue fruit."

96 points - Paul Gregutt, Wine Enthusiast Summer 2020 Report

"The 2017 Chardonnay Richard Hermann Cuvée has intense, layered aromas of quince paste, apple pie, toast, oyster shell, white blossoms, honeyed almonds, saline and baked peaches with a classy framing of allspice and hints of mushroom tart and tree bark. The medium-bodied palate is incredibly intense and silky, with tangy opposing acidity and a very long, layered, tensile finish. This is so good!"

95 points - Erin Brooks, Wine Advocate 2020 Report

"A bright, yellow-fruit nose with some gently waxy and dried-flower aromas, leading to a palate that has a succulent, fresh and juicy feel with such impressive depth and drive, as well as a smoothly creamy edge to the supple, long finish."

Produced from an Eola-Amity Hills Vineyard that is so famous we couldn't use it on the label, we decided to name this single vineyard Chardonnay after our founder Chris Hermann's father Richard. Dr. Richard Hermann was a world-renowned plant geneticist specializing in the Douglas Fir tree. Thanks to his blessing, 00 Wines was founded in 2015, when Dr. Hermann was 91 years old.
