00 Wines founder Chris Hermann selecting vineyards and barrel toast levels for the 00 Blanc de Blancs Champagne at the estate of Julien and Sarah Launois in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger.
00 Wines has an international team of winemakers in Burgundy and Champagne that produce micro-lot Grand Cru wines that we import into the US and ship around the world. Our family personally visits France multiple times per year to meet with the teams and make decisions about the upcoming vintage, vineyards, barrel selection, and dosage levels for the Champagnes.
To say it bluntly, this is not a purchased French bulk wine project that we are slapping our label onto.
We only produce micro-lots of these rare wines. Therefore, we can only offer them to our 00 Wines members on an allocation basis. Some fine wine brokers internationally and in limitied domestic markets may also have access to a small allocation.
Our vineyard sourcing and farming practives are not only important in our Willamette Valley wines, but also our French wines. Our French team is directly involved in the farming of the Grand Cru sites that we source from. Our careful winemaking practices honor these heritage sites.
00 Blanc de Blancs Grower Champagne is rare because it is produced from one barrel of vin clair per year. We also make 25 cases of Extra Brut NV Grower Champagne crafted each to express the 00 Wines philosophy of pushing the potential of Champagne forward.
